HARARE – Zimbabwe’s so-called protest pastor has told his supporters he’s being treated well in the maximum security prison he’s being held in, but he doesn’t want visitors.

He’s been limited to just two visitors a day and he wants family members to have priority.

Evan Mawarire seems to have put his family first when he fled into exile in the United States, and now in prison he’s doing the same.

His 'This Flag' movement says in a media release that he wants Zimbabweans to pray for him but he asks them not to visit.

Mawarire has been charged with subverting the government and insulting the flag, and is being held in Chikurubi Maximum Security Prison.

Conditions at the jail are widely reported to be grim and it’s normally a place for prisoners considered to be high-risk.
