Spread the love

Hey there!

So you might not want to show up at the High Court tomorrow for a variety of reasons. Many of which will be valid and understandable. Some will include fear, inconvenience, apathy, geography, work, lack of transport money or that you’re fed up with the Pastor (tell us if we’ve missed something out).

But, as Rue points out in our featured comment, it’s basically up to each one of us, one way or another, to help change the crisis that has engulfed Zimbabwe.

You might not care about what happens to Pastor E but we’re sure that you care about the lack of access to your own money in your bank, or no water in your taps, or potholes, or ZRP ATMs, or unemployment or the lack of health care – these issues are all related to what the Pastor has been highlighting: corruption, bad governance and the abuse of power and public resources.

So its important to act in whatever way you feel is right – and hopefully that isn’t doing nothing!

Kubatana’s challenge and call for support:

A) If you support the Pastor’s efforts to shine the light on the need for change in Zimbabwe, then share the love. As you know he is separated from his wife Samantha and his children. For Valentine’s Day, please email us a message of solidarity to Samantha and children:info@kubatana.net with Love from Us in the subject line. Or WhatsApp us a message on: +263 772 452201

We will get these to Samantha, and we will let the Pastor know about the campaign. And please share this idea with your friends locally, regionally and in the Diaspora.

B) If you’d rather not go to the High Court tomorrow, at 9am – the time that he is supposed to appear – try and deliver an act of kindness to a fellow citizen. This could be sharing a smile, sharing your loaf of bread, letting someone into the traffic during congestion, giving away a book, giving a bottle of water to a street kid . . . why? Because we’re in this together, and at the very least sharing kindness during such depressing and hostile times is the ultimate act of defiance.

Or maybe you have some better ideas! Actually we’re sure you do, so let us know, why don’t you.

One head cannot go into counsel.
